Eligibility
A hemp producer must:
- Meet and comply with the regulatory requirements of governing authority where the crop is grown
- Have at least one year of history producing the crop
- Have a share in the crop
Insurability
Crop Types:
- Grain (20 acre minimum*)
- Fiber (20 acre minimum*)
- CBD (5 acre minimum*)
*In addition to minimum acreage requirements, the insured must report the applicable land identifier, including Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates, and provide a copy of their valid certification or license and processing contracts.
Insured crop must be:
- Grown under a processor contract executed by the applicable acreage reporting date
- Grown under an official certification or license issued by the applicable governing authority that permits production of the hemp
- Planted for harvest as hemp in accordance with the requirements of the processor contract and production management practice of the processor
- Planted to an adapted variety and not a prohibited variety
- A type listed in the actuarial documents

Losses
Causes of Loss:
- Adverse weather conditions
- Earthquake
- Fire
- Insects*
- Plant disease*
- Failure of the irrigation water supply**
- Wildlife
- Volcanic eruption
*Except for insufficient or improper application of pest or disease control measures.
**If caused by an insured peril during insurance peril.
Not Covered:
- Levels if tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in excess of 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis, in accordance with the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 and applicable Federal regulations
- Failure to follow requirements contained in the processor contract
- Any harvested production infected by mold, yeast, fungus, or other microbial organisms after harvest
- Any damage or loss of production due to the inability to market the hemp for any reason other than actual physical damage to the hemp from an insurable cause of loss
